The week ahead 🗓️
👀 Look out for these cryptocurrency and crypto-adjacent events this week.

🚀 Today, former U.S. president and Republican candidate Donald Trump will launch World Liberty Financial, the crypto project that has been teased for months by his sons Eric and Donald Jr., in an X Spaces broadcast.

🚬 On Wednesday, U.S. crypto advocacy group will hold its second Stand with Crypto Day event, which will include a performance from The Chainsmokers in Washington DC.

🏦 Also Wednesday, the Federal Reserve is widely expected to cut interest rates for the first time in the post-pandemic era. If Fed chair Jerome Powell opts to hold, it would serverely shock markets. The only question really on traders’ minds is whether the cut will be 25 basis points or 50.
– The U.K.’s Bank of England will announce its own interest rate decision on Thursday, with the market betting on a hold but recent data has increased the chances of another cut following the start of its rate cutting cycle last month.

🔊 Wednesday will also bring two U.S. House financial services Committee hearings featuring crypto in a jam-packed month, a morning one on the enforcement practices of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and an afternoon one on the so-called pig butchering phenomenon, in which scammers build relationships with their victims before asking them to invest in crypto.
